CIS - Commentator Information System
CIS provides the latest live information and statistics, typically for broadcast and other media journalists.
It can be displayed on a PC screen using a keyboard or a touchscreen, or teletext monitors with a keypad.
It can also be broadcast using a wireless network and custom client software.
IOC - International Olympic Committee
The IOC is responsible for the organisation of all winter and summer Olympic Games. www.olympic.org
ORIS - Olympic Results & Information Services
The ORIS system provides templates for information (e.g. results) being printed or displayed to ensure sport requirements are met and to provide consistency across events.
OVR - On Venue Results
An OVR collects and processes all the information available within a venue.
In single venue competitions it will also provide the final services needed.
Multi-sport competitions can use many venues, some even in different countries, so the OVR will use secure communications to synchronise its data with a central results system.
